How early should I arrive, and what happens first?

Arriving five or ten minutes early is enough. You are greeted, offered water, and shown where to leave your clothes and change into a robe and slippers. Nobody is taken through paperwork, and nothing is signed. The clock on the session does not begin while any of this is happening.

This is the moment to mention anything relevant: a shoulder that has been complaining since the flight, a knee to avoid, a sunburn across the back, or a preference about how firm you want the work. It is far easier to say beforehand than to correct halfway through.

If you know you prefer to be spoken to in Korean or Chinese, say so at this point as well. The rest of the hour involves very little conversation by design, so the two minutes at the start carry most of the communication that a session needs.

Why does the sauna come before the massage?

The dry sauna comes first, for roughly ten minutes, because heat raises tissue temperature and blood flow, which is what makes muscle respond to oil work instead of resisting it. It is the difference between an hour that loosens something and an hour that only feels pleasant on the surface.

A shower follows. Beyond the obvious, it washes off sunscreen, salt and sand, all of which turn massage oil gritty and make long strokes drag. Ten minutes in the water at this stage does more for the quality of the next hour than most guests expect.

The jacuzzi is available here too and is entirely optional. Some guests use it, some go straight through, and some skip the wet area completely on a second or third visit. None of it is compulsory, and skipping it does not shorten the treatment that follows.

The first stretch: back, shoulders and arms

You start face down, covered with towels, with warmed oil applied across the back. The opening minutes are broad, slow, full-length strokes from the lower back up to the shoulders, which are there to spread the oil, warm the surface, and let the body register that nothing is going to be abrupt.

From there the work narrows: the muscle along either side of the spine, the shoulder blades, the band across the top of the shoulders, and the neck. This is where most travellers hold the tension they came in with, and it is where the first stretch spends the largest share of its time.

The arms follow, worked one at a time from shoulder to hand, including the forearm and the palm. It is the section guests most often forget was included, and the one that surprises people who have spent a week carrying a bag and a camera around the coast.

The middle: legs, calves and feet

Still face down, the work moves to the back of the legs, one at a time: hamstring, then calf, then the ankle and the sole. Calves take the brunt of a Nha Trang trip, between sand walking, stairs and long days on foot, and they usually need more attention than guests expect.

The soles are worked last in this section, with thumb pressure through the arch and the heel. It is firmer than what has come before, and it is the point in the hour where people most often either fall asleep or laugh, depending entirely on how ticklish they turn out to be.

If any of this is too strong, saying so is normal and expected. Pressure gets adjusted immediately rather than at the end, and nobody treats a request to ease off as a complaint about the work.

Turning over: front of the body, neck and scalp

Roughly at the halfway mark you turn over, with towels rearranged so nothing is exposed while you move. The front section covers the fronts of the legs, the arms and hands again from the other side, and the chest and shoulders, generally at a lighter pressure than the back received.

The neck comes next, worked from above with your head supported, which reaches muscle that cannot be got at while lying face down. For anyone who has spent a long flight asleep upright, this is often the two minutes that justifies the whole hour.

The scalp and the face finish the section: slow pressure around the temples, the base of the skull and the jaw. It is deliberately the quietest part of the treatment, and it is where most guests stop tracking time altogether.

Finishing care and coming back

The last stage is the finishing care: warm towels to lift excess oil from the skin, a few slow closing strokes, and then several minutes of simply lying still. Nobody is hurried up off the table, and the room stays dim while you come back to normal alertness.

That pause matters physically as much as it does for the mood. Standing up quickly after an hour lying warm and still is how people get dizzy, so the sensible thing is to sit on the edge of the table for a moment before getting to your feet.

Water is offered at this point. An hour of oil work in a coastal climate is mildly dehydrating, and drinking something before you go back out into the heat is a small thing that noticeably affects how you feel an hour later.

Afterwards: shower, dress and total time

A second shower is available and most guests take it, though some prefer to leave the residual oil on the skin for a while. Either is fine. Towels and amenities are laid out again, and there is no rush on the changing area once your session has ended.

Sixty minutes is table time, not door-to-door time. Adding the lift, changing, the wet area and dressing afterwards, plan on being in the building for about ninety minutes. Guests with an evening reservation elsewhere routinely underestimate this and end up cutting the end short.

Payment happens at the end, at the published figure of 1,600,000 VND, with nothing added and nothing expected on top. There is no counter conversation about extras because there are no extras to have a conversation about.

What if I am running late or want the sequence changed?

If you are going to be late, send a message rather than rushing. Depending on what follows your slot, the hour can sometimes be shifted; when it cannot, the honest answer is that the wet area gets shortened first, since the table time is what you booked.

The sequence itself is not rigid. The sauna can be dropped, a region can be given more of the hour, and an area you would rather were left alone will be. Say it at check-in and the therapist works to it from the first stroke.

What cannot be varied is the length and the price: one course, sixty minutes, one figure. Requests to extend a session on the spot are the one thing the house genuinely cannot accommodate, because the next room booking is already committed to someone else.

Who this is for

  • First-time guests who want the sequence of a full-course massage explained before they book one
  • Visitors deciding how much of an evening to set aside around a sixty-minute treatment
  • Anyone who wants to know in advance how to ask for lighter pressure or a changed sequence

Read this if you have never booked a full-course massage before and would rather know the sequence in advance than be surprised by it.

Frequently asked questions

How much total time should I set aside?
Around ninety minutes in the building. The sixty minutes refers to time on the table; the lift, changing, the sauna and shower beforehand and dressing afterwards account for the rest. Guests who have dinner booked immediately afterwards are the ones who most often end up leaving before the last part of the treatment.
What happens first when I arrive?
You are met at reception, offered water, and shown where to change into a robe and slippers. This is also when to mention any injury, sunburn, pressure preference or language preference. Nothing is signed and no clock is running yet, so there is no reason to hurry through this part.
Do I need to undress completely?
Only to the point you are comfortable with. You change into a robe, and on the table you are covered with towels throughout, with only the area being worked on uncovered at any one time. Guests who prefer to keep something on are accommodated without discussion.
Can I skip the sauna and shower?
Yes. The wet area is optional and skipping it does not shorten the sixty minutes on the table. That said, ten minutes of heat and a rinse genuinely changes how oil work feels, particularly after a beach day, so it is worth using at least once before deciding it is not for you.
What if I arrive late?
Message ahead and the hour can sometimes be moved. When it cannot, the wet area is what gets shortened, because the table time is what was booked and the following room reservation is already committed. Ten minutes of warning is usually enough to rearrange something; arriving unannounced is not.
Should I eat before a session?
Something light, an hour or two beforehand, works best. Lying face down straight after a heavy meal is uncomfortable, and arriving hungry is not much better since an hour of quiet warmth on an empty stomach can leave you light-headed when you stand up at the end.
Can I shower again afterwards?
Yes, and most guests do. Towels and amenities are set out again at the end, and there is no time pressure on the changing area once the session has finished. Some people prefer to leave the oil on the skin for a while instead, which is equally fine.
What is the finishing care at the end of the course?
Warm towels to lift the excess oil, a few slow closing strokes, and several minutes lying still in a dim room before you get up. It exists so the hour ends gradually rather than stopping dead, and so nobody stands up too fast after an hour lying warm and motionless.
Is it acceptable to fall asleep during the massage?
Completely. It happens most often during the feet or the scalp, and it is taken as a sign the session is working rather than as anything awkward. You will be woken gently at the finishing care stage, and no part of the treatment is skipped because you dozed through it.
